Why sail? Because that’s the personal dream of both of us – traveling, learning, experiencing, and…well…just living a good life!

When Dan was a young bartender, he bought a Cal 25 sailboat and lived on it for over three years.  He sailed up and down the west coast, lived  (and bar-tended) on Catalina Island for a stretch, and generally sailed alone all over the place.  His preferred retirement plan has always been to sail around the world as a cruiser, just enjoying the places he goes and living with a goal of making good time (emphasis on GOOD).  Besides sailing, Dan is an artist and teacher.  

His business is teaching students with disabilities and special needs Martial Arts. He loves working with his hands (damn good thing if you’re gonna live on a boat!), and as a typical adult with ADHD Renaissance Man, he enjoys motorcycling, rock climbing, backpacking, metal sculpture, welding, carpentry, snorkeling…SQUIRREL!

Beth doesn’t much care for posting stuff about herself, she has enough to worry about being married to Dan.  She knits.  She likes various crafts like stained glass, beading, playing with oxy-acetylene torches, and – oh yeah – she has to deal with Dan.

She also likes hiking, backpacking, camping and generally being outdoors.

A few of her working years were as Long Beach Harbor Patrol, and she got to captain the dive boat a few times, so let’s call that experience boating.

Since then, she’s sailed over 5000 miles with Dan from Texas to Maryland to the Caribbean and back to Texas.

She wants to sail away around the world because.  That’s all… just because.
